Object with 3 triangles one red & 2 white

Object came straight up from field (approx 3 miles away) and started moving toward me. It had climbed to approx 1000 ft when it passed over me and continued climbing. It was one straight cylinder looking craft with three lighted triangles on the front. (approx 50ft from corner to corner). The center one had all red lights and the outside ones were white lights. (approx 15 lights in each triangle). It had the sound of a jet engine after it passed (going fairly slow) but not as loud as a normal jet engine. I am in the country and there are no airports here. This is an Amish community and the object came straight up from a field just east of my property. (I m going there tomorrow morning to look around). This was so strange ! I am a Marine Corps veteran and know of nothing in our military that looks like the object that I just witnessed a few minutes ago.
