while this could have been a military deployment, I have never witnessed one like this over our property at night before. Aircraft were at altitude, but they were orange with no indication of port or starboard lighting. Approximately 30 flew overhead in a diamond to trail formation, typically faster than other aircraft. I have never seen approaching aircraft to PDX fly in the direction and pattern that was presented tonight.
