Circular object seen near Darien Illinois!

I saw a low flying object with green and red lights flying over 87th and Lemont St. I noticed it wasn't flying on a flight path as it flew around the intersection while rotating and seemed to land near a wooded area next to a neighborhood. I drove towards where I had seen it go down among the streets, but wasn't able to find it. I tried to snap a picture while I was driving. I was honked at for stalling and only got a blur of red and green in the sky.
