Bright light thought to be passenger jet at first

Viewing the stars, I saw a bright light that at first I thought to be a passenger jet. It appeared to be at about that altitude but only was one bright light without color and did not flash. It moved faster than a jet. I could not hear any sound. It was twice as bright than the stars of the big dipper. It approached me for about 10 to 15 seconds and then accelerated and seemed to go up until it was the brightness of a star, then accelerated more until it disappeared from sight. From the time it began to accelerate until it disappeared was about 3 to 4 seconds.
