Silent large round light low flying west to east

I was back on Casitas Pass Rd between Carpinteria and Ojai at Casitas Springs Ranch. There were 8 or 9 people standing around a fire. I commented that I had heard that it was possible to see the international space station if you looked to the sky in the right direction. At this moment all looked up and dw this huge round light flying out of the west. It was silent and did not act like a beacon or search light, when I saw it I was not able to watch it fly overhead, when I looked back it was gone. I asked others present what they thought they saw was, the space station they said. I've watched satilites in the night sky, this was 10,000 larger than any satilite or the stars in the sky. Were there other sightings on this date in S Cal?
