My lady friend and I were walking our dogs about 6 miles North of Quartzite, AZ, little uncertain on time, moon was not up and we noticed two very bright red lights in the Eastern sky, approx. 20 degrees North of Orion's Belt in the vicinity of Jupiter..
One was virtually motionless, the other moving slowly. After about 10 to 15 seconds they slowly began to fade until they completely disappeared. Then a few minutes later, three lights appeared the same general direction, moving very slowly or not at all. These were bright lights, not varying in intensity until again they began to slowly fade until becoming invisible. Did not have a camera with us, but knocked on the door of friends in an adjacent Motor Home, told them to come out and look. We all again saw the lights appear, same general location. Shortly they again began to slowly fade to a faint pinpoint then disappeared. Waited outside for about 20 minutes but they did not reappear. There was no noise associated with them. This is an area where there is military aircraft activity, however, there were no flashing nav lights or any other indication of aircraft type activity. Interested to know if anyone else in the area saw them.
