UFO and lights near Green Brook NJ Mysterious

We have had some nasty weather here and was looking what appeared to be a blown transformer while having a smoke and shoveling some snow. Flashes in an inconsistent manner were on the ground coming from the ground. Looking up at the low clouds I saw beams of light and 1/2 an object black and smooth the other portion was concealed because of the clouds (couldn't judge the size because of the distance but it was BIG and miles away I could see it was way larger than a plane) coming from above. It hovered for a few minutes than more lights appeared out of it. About 5 minutes I thought it may have been a shadow from the transformers than poof it was gone and all lights disappeared.
