Observed bright orange colored orb moving directly north to south across night sky. Object was in the eastern horizon appx. 45 degrees from the ground. Object moved relatively slowly for a distance, then stopped, and then about a half-minute later just vanished. For a while I thought it could be a helicopter but helicopters just don't disappear in mid-air and neither do they emit such an orangish hue.
