At first glance I thought what I could see was a helicopter and then I noticed its speed, altitude, which now appeared above the normal flight path
I observed a bright red light in the sky travelling from a westerly direction barring north east from my flat window which is situated in Maida Vale in Central London
My flat lounge window where I observed this visual phenomenon is situated on forth floor at the rear of the house.
The view provides a fantastic skyscape facing a westerly direction.
The weather on this out of the ordinary occasion was warm and it was a clear sky visibility good free of clouds no wind .The stars were visaball.
The lights which were observed can be described as bright shimmering glowing balls of light brighter than aviation navigation lights and did not pulse or flash there were no other lights resonating from these flying objects.
The phenomenon was not audible. Nominally when aviation is in the vicinity and viewed from my window sound can be clearly heard there was no background noise to defuse aviation noise.
Three lights formed a triangular formation directly in view and shot across the night sky at great speed and disappeared into the horizon.
More lights came into sight from the westerly horizon above the roof tops. Five lights could clearly be seen and appearing to be moving into formation. I identified this to be similar to the Plough star pattern formation.
The group then broke formation and travelled at speed now flying parallel then away into the horizon disappearing within seconds
Intermittently more bright shimmering glowing phenomenal balls of light appeared from the westerly horizon and moved across the night shy travelling north.
Shortly a nabour came and was an eyewitness as we observed more single lights appearing intermittently and disappearing all following same bearings, this continued for ten to fifteen minuets.
A helicopter appeared in view and with out dough must have witnessed the phenomena this as it hovered stationery above the roof tops with clear view The helicopter engines were audible. The helicopter then moved out of view, its blue, red navigation lights did not resemble what we were witnessing.
This unidentified aerial phenomena did not resemble any conventional aviation, and its navigation lighting.
