Eleuthera The Bahamas, Atlantic side

On this night both my husband and myself saw approximately ten unknown objects. They blinking red, green, yellow and orange but unlike a traveling plane with port and starboard lights. They did not move and at times appeared to have a translucent "tail" visible. Some were closer than others but one was very close and could not be identified by either of us. The moon and reflection off the water made the sky almost starless. These were clearly not stars. They simply hovered. We noted two a few days later. One was right in front of our house. Clearly lower than any star or planet could be. We felt no inherent threat.
