UFO that changed shapes and color South Aust

I am from Walkley Heights South Australia and would like to report a UFO sighting that my Father and I both witnessed at approximately 1,30 am on Thursday morning on the 18/12/2015. I have also submitted the photo we took as well as a couple of drawings I did to show what it looked like. I know it is a long report but wanted to describe it in as much detail as I could and to help me remember it clearly.

I went outside for a cigarette I am not sure on exact time but think it was between 1.30 am - 2.00 am. I always take binoculars with me as I enjoy looking at the stars and also had a strange UFO encounter in October of this year so I like to have them handy so if anything does look out of the ordinary I can attempt to have a closer look. I was standing there looking to the South as it is the best view of the sky from my backyard. I happened to turn around and look North I was not using the binoculars at this stage and you could not miss it due to the size and brightness of this mystery thing was what I could only describe to look like as a giant glowing very brightly lit up helium balloon in which was round or oval with a very long tail at the bottom of it that looked like a helium balloon with a glowing bright string. I thought to myself what the hell is that, it looked as though it was floating or hovering slowly heading east it kept on changing color from a bright yellow/orange kind of the color of fire to a very dark but still very bright red and the tail was the same color and brightness of whatever color it was at the time being red or yellow. This thing in the sky also would change shape to what looked like a giant glowing helium balloon to two separate glowing balls with the one in front bigger than the other with no tail at all with the smaller one being slightly smaller and lower but still had a long tail. At times when it seemed to form itself back to one it would have no tail and the entire time it was changing shape as well as color. It also when it was one sinle object it sometimes had a long tail then sometime no tail at all. It was a reasonably clear night with only a few small clouds except for one big cloud to the north that had a clearing in the middle of it (I drew a picture of the cloud and have attached it to this email), there was no wind, and it was still very hot and the sky kind of looked reddish (the sky has appeared red at night for a week or two). Anyway I watched this object move from west to north and north to west and it continued to do this for some time. I wanted to wake my Dad up to come and see it and even tried yelling through an open window near his bedroom but could not wake him and I also did not want to take my eyes of this mystery UFO as I thought if I did I may loose sight of it. After approximately 8-10 minutes of watching this thing go back and forth changing shapes and color it all of a sudden headed up straight for this big cloud and I thought I was going to loose sight of it but at times you could still see its brightness through the cloud, it headed straight to the clearing in the middle of this cloud and at first it was sticking to the very edge of this clearing in the cloud as if it was trying to hide itself but peeking to see if it was safe to come out. Then through the cloud I then spotted another UFO that seemed to come from near the first one, it was the same as the first one you could kind of see its shape and brightness through the cloud, it headed east and I saw it come out of the cloud it was very high and continued east before I lost sight of it and never saw it again. I turned my attention back on the first one it hovered around the edge of the clearing for a minute or so then went straight to the middle of the clearing and just sat there for a while. If you had not seen this thing moving through the sky to start with you probably would not have noticed it and maybe thought it was only a star the way it sat there for a while.

By this time I still desperately wanted to get my Dad outside so he could witness it and also for the fact that people would not think I am starting to go crazy as I know that is how it sounds, as since October I have seen a number of strange things in the Sky with the first incident in October being one of the best sighting until now and most of the others have not been real clear like this one or the October incident. I decided that while this thing was just hovering in the centre of this clearing in the middle of the cloud that I could get to the front yard and with any luck it would not have moved and I would still be able to see it as I had to make my way under a big veranda and through the carport without seeing the sky. When I made it out to the front yard it was still sitting in the same spot so I knocked loud on Dads bedroom roller shutter to wake him up and told him to get out here in a hurry because there is actually a UFO out here.

Dad come rushing out still only in his pajama bottoms I pointed out the general direction of this UFO thing and without him having anytime for his eyes to adjust or wake up properly he could see it right away and in saying this I am also trying to explain how bright and quite large this thing was. After about another minute or so it lowered itself out of the cloud and started going back and forth again from west to east still changing shapes and color as if it was looking for something. It then headed a long way to the east and we thought that it was going, but it then came back and sat there hovering again this time it was flashing a very big and very bright red light. At this point Dad said to me its got to be an airplane with that red light flashing like that. I said to Dad no way since when have you seen an airplane with a light as big and bright as that and also explain to me how an airplane changes shape from one ball with sometimes a long tail two separate balls and the way it was changing color. He did then agree that it could not be an airplane or helicopter. Once this bright red light started flashing Dad and I both tried looking at it through the binoculars I had on me but that bit is hard to describe but it seemed to be about a quarter of the size of the UFO and very, very bright. It started going back and forth again this time when looking into the binoculars it looked as though as it was moving through the sky it was spinning really fast as I could now see this red light going around and around. I asked Dad to then go inside to get his new camera as it is very powerful and has a 60 times zoom on it and is probably better than the binoculars. Dad finally come back outside with the camera and after a bit of mucking around and trying to switch it on and get the right settings (as he is still unsure how to use as it properly as it is brand new), this thing was heading north, west and was getting quite far away so he had to take the shot in a hurry so as for not knowing how far he zoomed in (In which seems quite large in the picture considering it was getting very far away now this is the only picture we managed to get as it never came back. I watched this UFO for approximately 25 min before it took off and Dad watched the last 10 - 15 minutes once I finally woke him up.

Dad headed back inside to go back to bed I stayed out the front a bit longer in the hope it would come back. After about 5 minutes a Police Helicopter come flying over which came from the south and seemed to head out in the general direction in which we had been watching the UFO I then went back around to the backyard and saw the helicopter fly back again towards either Adelaide or the Adelaide Airport. I decided to have another cigarette before heading back inside. The Police Helicopter come back flying straight over the top of our house and just as it got over our house it took off really fast back to the general direction in which we were watching the UFO. It then started flying over the same path as the UFO was but only much lower it did this a few times and took off again. I then headed back inside, I can certainly say that the UFO thing was not a helicopter as I looked at this also through binoculars and was not an airplane as the way the UFO was going back and forth it did not seem to have to actually have to turn around and also the fact I have watched plenty of airplanes as well as Helicopters a night through the binoculars.

Anyway I will never know for sure what that police helicopter was doing but I found it rather strange that it went back and forth over the general path as the UFO did. It did seem to me that they must of got reports about this object as if you had looked up in sky when this thing was going back and forth I am sure that you could not have missed it. I never heard anything on news the next day, I sure it will be another cover up.

I would also if you can like to know if anybody else made reports to you or if you have heard anything on what I have reported. Also would like to know what you thing of the photo and what you think it may be I would also like to say when I use the word UFO I am talking about unidentified flying objects, who knows if it could be alien or military or secret government things.

My drawing ability is not so great especially using the drawing workshop on the laptop.

1. In the first drawing I have drawn in yellow the general shape of the UFO and in red what is was changing from and to. When it was one object it sometimes had a long bright tail hanging down just like the drawing and sometimes it did not had no tail at all.

2. In next drawing I just drew a cloud with a clearing in the middle just to show you what I meant by a clearing in the middle of the cloud.
