UFO, triangular, black, silent, very large and low

Just remember around summer time, between 1987-1988, "able to determine actual area and year date with help." Time: between 11:00 pm to 1 or 2 am. My younger brother, friend and I laying on our backs in her driveway looking for shooting stars on clear night. From my right side, peripheral vision noticing stars vanishing, when I turn to look, a very large, solid black, thick triangular flying object with rounded edges, flys over from my right side to the left, just above what seems to be tree top level and absolutely no sound except for the wind it created.
I am a former State official for the Texas Criminal Justice Department. I was younger then, but the more I hear from some others on tv describing like what I saw, makes me want to help find out, what are we seeing?.... Love to talk to you.
