Green streak of light seen in Houston, Texas

My two co-workers and I were driving northeast on highway 59 at about 11:30 pm. I was riding in the back seat, and noticed the front passenger's hand start to raise, pointing. There was a very fine, very bright, very fast green streak of light to our left corner of vision. The location of this light, whatever it was, was approximately north of where we were. It seemed to be coming down at about a 45 degree angle, but it was quite far away and we couldn't very well say if it was shooting closer to us or not. It only lasted about 2 seconds before we lost sight of it, but we all saw it and all had seen the same color. We lost sight of it when it reached the very distant treeline. None of us have ever seen something this strange as far as potential phenomenons go, nor are we big into UFOs or aliens. But we all agreed that this was an abnormal event, and it baffled us to the point where we discussed whether or not it would be a good idea to even talk to anyone about it. But I am making this executive decision, and hopefully i can convince them to post their experiences on here, with my report as a reference. So keep an eye out.
