Moving star in Albuquerque, New Mexico

About a month ago my cat woke me up in the middle of the night to go outside. I would have just gone back to sleep but he kept making too much noise, so i opened the front door and stood in the driveway as he walked around sniffing bushes and such. I looked into the sky to find the Big Dipper, and noticed what looked like a small star that was moving up away from the horizon to the north of my house. it was moving very slowly in a straight line, and I kept losing it as it moved to brighter parts of the sky. I figured it must be a space station, I'd seen it before when i was little, but when I looked up to find it a few moments later, i found it had changed direction and was now moving southeast. The sky soon became too light to find the object again, and it was gone
