My wife and I saw something last night that apparently no one else saw. It was about 11pm (it was between 10 and 11:30pm) last night (11/07/13). I stepped out with my wife to have a cigarette before going to bed. I like to look at the stars, and my wife likes to have the porch light on. Because she saw me looking at the stars, she kept the light off before coming out. We talked for a bit, and I watched the stars. Suddenly and completely silently, something very big glided over us, not 100 ft up. About the same distance up as a tall radio tower. My first instinct was to say it was a bird, but the thing was huge! 25ft from tip to tip, at least, in a roughly crescent shape. I am not sure if it was glowing or if it was just reflecting light from the street, but it appeared to be glowing... well.. grey. Yeah, I know that sounds off, but it's the best way I can describe it. Clear, cold night. There wasn't a breath of wind to speak of, so large kite or some kind of balloon is unlikely, as it was moving at a good clip toward the SE. Now, I have seen lights in the sky that changed directions suddenly and laughingly toyed with the idea of it being a "UFO". This thing was the real deal, though. My wife and I have never seen anything like it. And, just as in cases of hoaxes such as Loch Ness and Sasquatch... no one else saw it. Just us... So, of course, no one believes me. DID ANYONE ELSE SEE THIS THING??? DID ANYONE GET A PICTURE OF IT??? We live in Webster City, Iowa. If anyone else can verify this thing and maybe (hopefully) tell me what it was, I would be ever so grateful! It was moving at about 35-40 MPH in a SE direction. And, as I said, it wasn't that high up at all. Completely noiseless. No engine sound no flapping or fluttering. I wish to God that I'd had my phone on me to take a picture as it glided over us. I think the crescent shape could have just been the front of something larger, reflecting light. The stars behind it were blocked out as it passed. Might have been about 10-15' in length, if that's the case.
