flashes of light and orange orb south of saskatoon

we were driving home from regina and noticed a bright white flash of light, fast like lightning and started looking around, wondering what it was. we waited for a minute or so and saw another flash further down the road, and looked to the west and noticed an orange orb of light appear out of nowhere, but close to a building already lit by light, we thought at first it was a orange farm light on a post, but could not see any post, towers or construction around it, noticed the light was larger and very slowly moving up and down, hovering, but definatly not solitary, the light grew brighter then suddenly winked out, came back on for a couple seconds, then disappeared for good.
