I'm an astronomy nerd.. While observing Jupiter in its close, bright proximity.. I decided to take a photo of it with my iPhone to show a friend I'd been describing it to recently. I took a large scale photo to include a star following it in orbit, "Regulus" which follows below Jupiter & to the left. 20 or so minutes later, after looking at the pic to send I noticed something strange at the bottom right hand corner. After zooming in I noticed it is a set of 3 bright lights which make up a triangular shape. These lights are much brighter than Jupiter, which at this time of year & time of day ( 10:00 pm EST ), is the brightest star in the sky.
These lights were absolutely not in the sky by my naked eye. Nor were they on any star constellation chart I know for reference.
The next day.. I picked the photo up on my iPad & did some black/white & light contrast changes & noticed there is some sort of clouding white, almost vapor like looking balls & streaks surrounding the lights. ,and then I realized there was another set of 3 triangular shaped lights behind the much brighter one. Also, through contrast editing, I was able to capture stars of the Galaxy behind it. Pretty amazing. Mind blown!!!
