Was setting on deck watching the night skies around Portland, Oregon, saw the usual aircraft coming and going per usual then a single white light appeared and streaked downward at a very high rate of speed and at first thought it was a shooting star but then the object veered off and changed course which I have never seen a shooting star do. the object disappeared as fast as it appeared. Do not know if any one else in the area saw this object or not.
