Two spherical red objects as large as a jet plane

The first object approached toward my home at a fast speed then stopped just above me, hovered, started to hum then shot straight upward into space within about 5 seconds time. 2nd one approached within 3 minutes time. Ran to neighbors home so they could witness also. It stopped directly above us, hovered for a few seconds, started to hum then shot straight upward into space just like the first one. Both objects were huge kind of burgundy red in color. Did not put off any bright light or anything like that. I estimated that their altitude would be approximately 5,000 feet. I am within approximately 15 miles of Charlotte Douglas Airport and expected to see some type of news report on Sunday but nothing had been reported. Another guy at work who lives near my area also saw the lights. I was in awe and everything happened so quickly that I did not think about taking any pictures.
