Diamond shaped object over rail trail.

Cross country skiing on a rail trail. Started snowing very hard with no wind. Saw small black figures about a 100 yards ahead scurrying about, very small figures. Stopped skiing to look more closely then up above there was a diamond shaped object in the sky. It slowly moved into the tree line and disappeared to the right of the trail. I skied as fast as I could to see we're it went, but it disappeared into the heavy snow event! Half of the diamond was a kind of reddish color and the other half was a dull aluminum kind of color. No sound of any kind. More fascinated then scared!
