glowing object in sky that changed shape and color

Driving home from vegas on side road by the speed way and Nellis AFB when I noticed a strange bright glowing light that was not very high in the sky and moving slowly. It seemed to be rotating and changing shape as well as changing color. From bright white (yellowish) and red. It was moving so slowly and appeared to be stationary at times. I couldn't take my eyes off of it and almost ran off the road. So I pulled over and grabbed my cell phone to get a video of it. It was completely silent and could not be an aircraft nor a helicopter. It was changing shape as it was spinning. At one time it appeared as if there was more than one of them. I saw another one for a couple seconds then it was gone. It was incredible to look at I was captivated by it. I took three videos of it with my phone and on the last video i thought for sure I had it in my view finder but it just disappeared and was gone. I sat there for a few minutes longer to see if it would return or if it would show up somewhere else in the sky but it did not.
