bright light moving extreamly fast then gone

I was on 435 heading north about to turn west on 210. A very bright light came into view heading east and gaining altitude. As it went out of sight the light then got small and had a red tint then disappeared like it went behind a curtain in the sky. This all happened in less than 2 seconds. I was in the Marine Air Wing and never saw any jet move that fast across the sky. It was gaining altitude and speed so it was not a meteor. I will have to guess on the shape as it was dark out and only could see the very bright single and constant light.
