Bright round light in Brooklyn Park, MN

I've only seen the one. I was out side with neighbor in front yard. Saw this huge light coming over the potato field towards our farm at 9800 Regent Ave. Made no noise, the light got brighter and bigger as it came towards us. It stopped and made a sharp 45 degree right and soared in like a warp speed. I would not know what craft could make a right turn, race away in to the night and make no noise. Was not a helicopter, not a plane and in 1972 technology was a bit scarce, no cell phone on the farm. Just writing what I saw.
