UFO sighting in Florida with light colors

Looked like Kennedy Space Center rocket release but instead of shooting towards space it was declining towards us in the close area. It was just east of traditions, fla in Saint Lucie. I was with my 2 kids coming back from a school Halloween Party when we saw it. We stopped on the side of the road & turned out lights off to make sure what we were seeing was real. There is the Stuart Air Show this weekend but I highly doubt any of the planes descend so rapidly, with a bright burst of "fire" or flames behind it and the front was white, then green, then white again, and then it completely stopped mid air. Not sure how far from earth it hovered, but below the clouds easily. I know other people have had to see this too.
It stayed there and we decided to drive further down the road to try & get closer but when we came around the corner, we didn't see it anymore. Glad I wasn't alone because no one would ever believe me.
