Bright object glowing in the shap of an U

The object appeared hovering then moving glowing orange changed shapes went black and varnished almost then it shot off straight up. It came into my view as I was staring at the sky it literally was not there then when I blinked it was there it flew left to right the on it's thrid left to right pass it stopped then blacked out and was gone. There was also no sound only a strange owl hooted and I have never heard an owl hoot in my backyard ever before.
