Red lit object appeared out of the Easter sky.

Red object was first seen at about 12 degrees east traveling directly west. Object approached reasonably quickly. The light on the object did not appear to be flashing I could not determine its altitude but it appeared to be at least the height of a transatlantic aircraft. It disappeared when it got to about 85 degrees. I thought it was an airplane until it completely disappeared in the brightly moonlit sky.
