Orange orb being chased by two jets

My children and I were walking and noticed an orange orb being chased by two jets. This orb had no jet stream and was not flying but more like hovering and travelling in whichever direction it wanted to go. At one point in time the orb was chasing the jet. They both disappeared straight up into the sky, about 6-8 seconds later they both reappeared. My children and I were in awe that we were witnessing this. The chase lasted over a minute in the sky until all three disappeared. I called whoever I could at the time I wanted them to look up and witness this with me. I tried recording it with my phone but I had a cheap LG flip phone. When I checked there was nothing on the video. It was too far to capture.
