Bright ball of light hoovering outside my window

It was a windy evening and the clouds were moving quite quickly but it wasnt raining. I was lying on my couch with a headache. I had the lights off the tv on with no sounds and the windows open. I noticed bright red neon lights out the window.
I immediatly knew that they did not belong there. I said something to my daughter who was in the other room and she came into the room. She looked at me and followed me stare out the window. She saw what I saw and had her iphone in hand saying i gotta take a picture of this...We both moved to the open window to get a better look.
There were many maybe 50-100 red neon type lights of different lengths 10-80' coming out from all directions and they were joined somehow under a blur to a very very bright white roundish thing about the size of a paper plate at arms length casting a red light on the trees across the street. My window faces east and the sky was unusally black. It hoovered for what seemed like five or ten mins. We were mezmoried by what we saw. There was no sound but rather a vibration we felt. The red neon lights retracted into to ball of light and it dimmed and shrunk and blinked a
And it disappeared in front of us. It was less than 100' away from us. My teen says its only here because of me?
